About

Dan Wood is an artist, printer, and printmaker in Providence, Rhode Island.  He has a strong belief in the deep social impact printing can have, and makes prints in the hope it can start a conversation, spark interest or outrage, or even just to bring attention to a single fleeting moment. He divides his studio time between producing his own work, running DWRI Letterpress, the letterpress print shop he founded in 2002, teaching part-time in the Printmaking Department at the Rhode Island School of Design, and trying very hard to find his coffee, keys, or whatever that last thing was he just put down.

His work is held in private and public collections, including The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The RISD Museum, The New York Public LIbrary, The Cynthia Sears Artists Book Collection at The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Wheaton College, The Museum of Printing, among others.
